396 Yard Prairie Dogs with 17 HMR
Shooting with a 25-40mph crosswind, my friend Andy Giambi sighted in his
Model 97D Rifle on a stick, laser ranged at 396 yards. Difficult enough, but this
gun was shooting the little 17 HMR cartridge. I told him, "If you can hit a
prairie dog at that distance, I'll put you on the cover of our catalog". Well,
that son-of-a-gun hit a prairie dog on his third try. And to prove it wasn't a
fluke, he did it again!
Customers will often call and ask, "How far can I shoot..." with this or
that cartridge. This demonstration by Andy Giambi shows that Accuracy and
Marksmanship are the main factors in successful long range shooting. Get an
