Description

Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock for Savage 10/110 Series
OD Green Stock Fits Savage SA 10/11/12/14/16 and LA Stagger Feed 110/111/116
See "Fitting Information" Below -  Choate Ultimate Sniper Gun Stocks are like no other rifle stocks ever made. The unique appearance catches your attention but it is much more than a sales gimmick. The internal construction is a combination of bench rest precision and battlefield durability... Who in the world would dream up such an exotic rifle stock and why? The answer to that question is Major John L. Plaster, author of the best selling book The Ultimate Sniper... A masterpiece reference of shooting and fieldcraft. Maj. Plaster is the designer of this stock and that's why it's named after his book.
External Features... What, Where, and Why - The wedge shaped forend is for push-pull elevation adjustment when shooting from a rest. The slots in the forend are for barrel cooling. Embedded in the wedge is a rail for attaching bipods, swivels, etc. The narrow part between the forend and the receiver is stippled for grip. It's the balance point for one-hand carrying of your rifle. The nearly vertical pistol grip is the most comfortable grip position for prone (laying down) and bench rest shooting. The removable cheek rest comes in two different heights (included) and they have three mounting positions... so you can set up the stock to align your eye perfectly with your scope. On the bottom of the butt almost directly opposite of the cheek rest is an adjustable butt pod... It screws in or out to adjust elevation up and down. The butt pad is removable and accepts spacers to adjust your length of pull. Sling swivels are mounted on both sides of the forend and butt for flexibility when carrying or steadying your rifle with a sling. Finally, the skeletized butt allows a two hand hold when the forend is rested.
Fitting Information - Long Actions (LA) have a screw hole spacing of 5.062". This stock only fits the Stagger feed in the Long Action (will not work on the Long Action Center feed). Short Actions (SA) are two types: Center Feed is when you remove the action from the stock and the magazine stays in the stock and has screw spacing of 4.41". Stagger Feed is when you remove the action from the stock and the magazine box stays attached to the receiver and has screw spacing of 4.27". (And One Final Note: This stock does NOT fit any models with the bolt release in the trigger guard or models with a detachable magazine.).

Excellent Stock
First off, my Savage Custom Model 10 7mm-08 with 26" bull barrel dropped right in, no problems at all. Nice tight fit, no drilling or shaving to make room.
The stock is solid, very well made and has a great feel to with the Hogue overmolding. In the front, the mount for the bipod is adjustable both forwards and back. This makes precision placement easy. The stock is heavy and has some very sharp stipling in the grip and forend area. I took a flat file and knocked the "points" off until it was comfortable to the bare hand. The forend is flat and wide, very easy to stablize the gun on bags if that is your choice. For around $200, this is a great buy for anyone looking to upgrade thier gunstock.....
